She is also a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, offering private lessons and public classes throughout the East Bay. Jessie’s passion for alternative medicine began in high school, when a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner successfully treated her for chronic seasonal allergies. This experience inspired Jessie to pursue a carrier in healing, so she earned her Iyengar Yoga certification in 2004, attending both 200-hour and 500-hour teacher trainings, and graduated from the California College of Ayurveda in 2006 as valedictorian of her class. With a commitment to providing the best possible care to her patients and students, Jessie has continued her studies in yoga and Ayurveda, completing two clinical internships with Dr. Vasant Lad in Pune, India, and traveling to Pune, India to study with the Iyengar family. Jessie also sought training in Pancha Karma through the California College of Ayurveda and the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and received her certification in 2006. She is grateful to be able to continue her studies with her teacher, Senior Iyengar Yoga practioner Peter Thomson, throughout her journey as a practitioner and teacher. In 2016, Jessie completed her Masters in Chinese Medicine, and is thrilled to bring the modalities of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture into her private health and wellness practice. In addition to her commitment to continued learning and growth as an Ayurvedic and Iyengar yoga practitioner, Jessie is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Chinese Medicine (DAOM), with a focus on orthopedic pain management and Classical Chinese Medicine at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland.
